The Annual Father’s Day Reggae Fun Splash Family Event by King Rope-Ins started in 1994 at Wilmer’s Park in Brandywine, Maryland.
Each year on Father’s Day, the event showcases the Washington DC area’s finest acts through talent shows, dance contests, and beauty pageants. The event recognizes local DJs, sound systems, businesses, restaurants, and more by distributing awards and trophies.
This family-friendly event includes activities for everyone, from domino and soccer tournaments to a full-size moon bounce and pony rides for the kids.
Starting in 2018, the launch of the 14 Parish Reunion recognizes all parishes of Jamaica with festival-goers dressed in their respective county colors as follows:
- Cornwall/Yellow – St. Elizabeth, Hanover, St. James, Trelawny & Westmoreland
- Middlesex/Green – Clarendon, Manchester, St. Ann, St. Catherine & St. Mary
- Surrey/Red – Kingston, Portland, St. Andrew & St. Thomas
