Goals of Behavior: Recognizing Children’s Goals & Avoiding Power Struggles
Mon, March 24 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Adlerian psychology explains that when children misbehave there are underlying reasons motivating the behavior – wanting attention or control, seeking revenge, or showing a sense of helplessness. Understanding what motivates behavior helps parents and caregivers address the root cause of misbehavior and promote healthier patterns of communication. Discuss the goals of behavior and learn how to respond in ways that benefit the child and to avoid power struggles in this one-hour seminar sponsored by Polk County, Iowa’s Behavioral Health & Disability Services agency.
